On Wednesday, February 17, 2021, the City of Norfolk’s School Board unanimously voted to approve an updated plan for a return to in-person learning. On Monday, March 1, 2021, teachers and staff will return to their respective work locations. March 1-3, 2021, will serve as asynchronous learning days for students while teachers and staff make final preparations to begin safely phasing in students on Monday, March 15, 2021. The process of bringing back students will be completed by Monday, April 26, 2021. During and after the phase-in process, teachers will use a hybrid instruction model each day to teach their lessons. A webpage dedicated to our return to in-person instruction will launch Thursday, February 18, 2021, and additional details will be made available to our families and employees.
PLEASE NOTE: Those Parents wishing to have their child remain in the Virtual Scholars Academy will be able to do so. No child is being forced to return to in-person learning. Parent’s will have the final say as to when they feel comfortable in returning their child to in-person learning.
